Building Transition Updates

In 2013, the congregation entered into discussion about the possible sale of the Ranchlands facility through an intentional congregational renewal process. In 2016, the Ranchlands building was sold to the Muslim Association of Canada, and the Calgary congregation relocated to Lion's Village at 2528 Bowness Rd. NW as a temporary location.

A Facility Planning Team has been established to help facilitate this transition, and the congregation has entered into an acquisition process as it seeks to relocate to a new space.

This purpose of this page is twofold:

  1. To provide all stakeholders with the most current information available on the subject of the building transition.
  2. To provide all stakeholders with a centralized location to connect with the Facility Planning Team. All are encouraged to post questions or comments on all updates below and/or complete the Owners Representatives Contact Form. A member of the Facility Planning Team will respond to your request as soon as possible.

Facility Construction Update

2/11/2021

The Facility Team is excited to report that work is underway at the congregation’s new site located at 422 11 Ave SE #112. Walls are going up and the current schedule provided to us by our professional groups shows a tentative target date for inspections and hand-over in mid-May 2021.

Parker Johnson will drop in at the work site (complying with all COVID-19 guidelines) from time-to-time to photography progress and share them with the congregation. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and worksite safety requirements, we encourage you to follow along virtually with the progress of our new location. If you would like to physically visit the worksite to see the construction progress for yourself, please contact Doug Hayden so that arrangements can be made with the work crew.

This is an exciting time for our congregation, and we look forward to reporting on the status of our new home as frequently as we can

These construction updates need to be frequented more, that's for sure. But unfortunately, I think there is a lack of such updates, and it needs to be held up more and more.

I appreciate the facility construction update. Can you provide an update on the progress so far and any impending milestones? Furthermore, how will the completed facility benefit the community and its users?
