This Sunday, October 1, 2017, Sam Smalldon will lead a discussion on the topic of World Church Finances. Please review his note below, the memo from the Presiding Bishopric, and the important documents prior to this Sunday's conversation.

To the Congregation:

It is our hope by sending this out in advance of the Sunday morning conversation it will help everyone to have time to read and have a good understanding of the communications, the message, and the request in hopes that discussion will build on this for better understanding and any desire from the Congregation to participate in the request being made.  
 
Also, please note as a reminder, we will follow up this discussion on October 1, 2017, with another opportunity for Coffee and Conversation on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 10 a.m. to discuss Local Church Finances in preparation for the annual budget for 2018. 
 
We are hoping to be open and transparent as well as provide time for vigorous discussion of these topics as they are relevant and timely. We look forward to a good discussion; both to increase awareness and help answer any questions or hear the concerns or issues that arise.

To: Congregational Financial Officers in the USA and Canada

We hope you were able to join the webcast for President Steve Veazey’s address to the church. If you were not, the video is available with the text and Q&A on the Community of Christ website.
 
We thought it would be helpful to have an overview of the address and some action steps your congregation can take. We hope you will find opportunity to share this information and that as a community you will choose to act.
 
If we can provide any other information that will be helpful to you, please feel free to contact us. We are attaching some sample resolution forms for use if your congregation votes to provide funds from an Affiliate Investment Pool account to Worldwide Mission Tithes.
